
Energy Work for Anxiety, Stress & Fatigue
The energy work that I do is a gentle, safe and supportive way to slow down, really settle into your body and rest. In this relaxed state you have greater access to your internal knowing and wisdom, and the body has greater access to its innate ability to heal.
My energy work is grounded in the Japanese technique for stress reduction and healing called Reiki. "Reiki" means Universal Life Energy and as a Reiki Master, I have been trained as a conduit for that healing energy.
When should I consider an Energy Session?
If you are having trouble slowing down or experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety, a session can help strengthen the body memory of how to rest well and support you in getting to that state more easily on your own. Also, you may want to consider a session when you are:
- Feeling depleted; needing to deeply rest and recharge
- Feeling generally anxious and/or fearful
- Feeling overworked, overextended or overwhelmed
- Facing a difficult decision
- Anxious about a relationship and where it is headed
- Having trouble leaving work at work or carrying around stress that isn't yours
What does an Energy Session look like?
In a session, the client lies on a massage table fully clothed. I place my hands lightly on or just above the client's body, palms down in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, stomach and feet. Clients may notice heat from my hands, or other physical or emotional sensations. As the energy works through your system, a state of peace and wellbeing may be experienced.
Sometimes a session will be done mostly in silence and other times we will share a dialogue and there may be images available to work with. Both options provide significant opportunity for rest and healing. Some clients choose to combine energy work and counseling in a session.
